Incorrect Version starts when I double-click document

Is there any way to stop Office 2004 from starting when I doubleclick
a document when using OS 9? There are some programs that I need to
use while booted in OS 9 (not classic) and this is becoming a problem
when I need to open Office documents as well.

Thanks for any advice you can give me.

Open the version of Word (2001?) you have there before you double-click the
docs.

Why would you have to boot into OS 9 instead pf using Classic?

PLEASE always state which version of Microsoft Office you are using -
**2004**, X or 2001. It's often impossible to answer your questions
otherwise.

I really wish there was some way to choose a version without having to
start the program first! Oh, well, what a pain. I guess I'll just
work in Word 2001 until I don't need to boot in OS 9 any more.

Why I need to boot in OS 9: One of the printers I use won't work in
classic (USB port doesn't show up at all as an option in the classic
chooser). Since I haven't got a version of Photoshop that works in
OSX, I need to boot in OS 9 to print from Photoshop.

There is. Just drag the document onto the application icon to open it.
When you're in OS 9, drag the Word document you want to open onto the Word
2001 icon or an alias you created for it.
