Incorrect window location

Version: 2004 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Intel Excel 2004 for Mac suddenly started to open windows with the top left corner at the top left of the screen, which puts them behind the toolbars. If I resize the window, and then hit the green button, the window expands to the full screen (behind toolbars and dock).

First make sure that both OS X (10.5.8) and Office 2004 (11.5.6) are fully
updated. Windowing issues are relatively certain if not up to date on both.

Secondly, any toolbars near the top of the window have to be firmly docked
to one another beginning at the bottom edge of the Menu Bar. If there is so
much as a split hair's breadth separating them it will cause the behavior
you describe. Drag the bar(s) away from the top of the screen then precisely
drag the one you want at the top into that position so that it 'snaps' top
the bottom edge of the Menu Bar, then drag the next to snap it to the bottom
edge of the first.

Well, that's the #1 cause in probably 90% of the cases, so consider yourself
among the elite minority :) Try launching Excel while holding the Shift key
& see if the behavior persists.

Also, run Excel while logged in as a different User.

Finally, log in while holding the Shift key.

Reply with the results of each test.
