Incorrect Work Calculations in Visual Reports

In Project 2007, I can correctly run the Budget Work Report Visual Report for
a project. However, I would like to run the Budget Work Report for multiple
projects (all of which are on our Project Server). To accomplish this, I am
inserting the second project into the first project, and running the Budget
Work Report. When completed, the Work hours are doubled for all projects.

For example, Project A is a 100 hour project. I run the Budget Work Report
and I see the report for 100 hours. I then insert Project B, another 100
hour project, into the Project A plan. The total work in the Project
Schedule (Gantt View) is correctly stated as 200 hours. I now run the Budget
Work Report, but the total number of Work hours is 400. Project A is 200
hours and Project B is 200 hours in the report.

Hcw can I properly run the Budget Work Report with multiple projects and get
accurate Work calcuations?

Thanks in advance.

Hi GTB,

yeap that is truly frustrating. I have tried to run visiual reports based on
Master proejcts and had the same issue. The Visual reports are intended for
one project at a time only. If you would like to have a consoldidated view of
many projects you may want to consider Project Server, which includes a
feature called Data Analysis, allowing you to create the same reports, either
on the web or by connecting to the Project Server OLAP cubes directly from
Excel

Hope this helps
