Increase in Database size

I originally started off with one database. We needed to use it at another
site, so i created a duplicate. We later decided that it was not necessary to
have this. We recreated the tables dropping the extra fields. but the
original database is now 4 times larger than one at the other site. any
suggestions please.

Hi

It may be that the original has been opened/used more and so there will be
bloating. Compact and repair both DB's and they should return to around the
same size provideing they each have the same forms/queries/tables and data

MAKE A BACK UP 1st !!!

Hi Wayne, Thanks for that unfortunately I compact and repair every morning
and it makes very little difference to the large one. Any other suggestions ?

i haven't used access since version 95 but i recall having the same problem.
i think i got around it by creating a new database and then importing all the
forms, queries, tables, etc into the new database. make a copy straight away
then if the problem reoccures u will only have to import the tables next time
around.
