Indendation Lost in Outline Numbering

Anu

Hi,

In the template, I have created an outline numbering style called
"ListNum". The indentation of this style is lost. When I reapply the
style to the document, continuous numbering is assigned. It is a
pretty huge document with lots of sections. How do I restart numbering
without any manual intervention?

Generally, the "ListNum" style is preceded by a "procedure" style. I
read on this list that you can create a macro that restarts the
numbering based on a style.

Does MSWord provide such a macro or rather how do I create when I have
no programming experience. I tried using the Macro Recorder, but
doesn't word as expected.

Please help me on this.

Anu

Hi Anu

You need to set the indentation from the numbering scheme, not from the
Paragraph settings, for a numbered style.

You don't need a macro to restart numbering whenever you have a 'procedure'
style. Instead, you need to link the procedure style to the top level of an
outline numbered list, and your 'ListNum' style to the second. Set the
numbering on the procedure style to be no number, and make sure that Level 2
(the level linked to ListNum) restarts after Level 1.

You must set this up from your procedure style - not from numbering on the
'ListNum' style.
