Indent error in auto numbering

When I type a "1." and the auto indent begins, i get an indent error by the
time I get to number 3. For example it looks like this:

1. this is line one and has indented from the margin.
2. this is line two and I keep typing until I get to the end of the
line then
what happens for the next line is this
3. This number is not indented from the margin and it won't line up with
line 1 and 2, unless I hit the tab key, and the line becomes an (a) sub line
-- and hit the backspace key and it will then line up with the second line.
I'm baffled!

Try the following: On the Tools menu, click Options. Click the General
tab. Clear the options referring to WordPerfect, and then click OK.
