indent markers on the ruler bar

Hello,
I have word 2000. I am not able to move my ident markers to each mark on
the ruler bar. The indents move on either side of the ruler marks but will
not stop on the marker itself. I have everything set to inches. I have
tried to reinstall the sotware. Any suggestions would be of great help.

Dragging Indents on the Ruler are great for estimations. If you need exact
measurements, click "Format", "Paragraph" and set what you need there.
