Indentation in bulleted list

How do I inent the second line of a bulleted list? Thanks!

Is this Word 2007? Then you should right-click the bulleted paragraph and
choose Adjust List Indents from the context menu. In the dialog box, "Bullet
position" is the distance from the left margin to the bullet character;
"Text indent" is the distance to the text from the left margin. For a
hanging indent, you would specify a larger value than for "Bullet position."
For "Follow number with," choose "Tab character." Select "Add tab stop at,"
and then specify the same value that you chose for "Text indent." When you
are done, click OK.

I also have a similar question. How do I indent the second line of
numbered header, do that the second line appears under the text of th
first line, and not before the text of the first line. My question i
for Word 2003. Thank you

I tried this on my document and it didn't change the 2nd line indent. I
couldn't see that it made any change. What I did find though on "Follow
number with," I selected "space" instead of "tab character", the first line
was brought closer to the bullet and the 2nd line was left at the original
hanging indent setting.

Once I finally understood the purpose of this little exercise from the
author of the paper, I showed him a different way to get the effect he
wanted...which was to simply make this particular part of the paper more
"readable". I didn't like the idea of the 2nd line being indented anyway.

You may have to experiment a little to get exactly what you want. For
example, if you want the bullet at the left margin, choose zero for "Bullet
position"; you can then specify 0.25" for "Text indent" and "Add tab stop
at" (this assumes of course that "Tab character" has been selected for
"Follow number with").
