Indenting Table of Contents and eliminate double spaceing.

Hi,
I have four Heading Styles I want shown in this order in TOC:
7, 1, 2, 6.

I wanted Heading 7 to be cantered on the TOC (Part One).
Want HSytles 1 to start at the right margin, 2 indented abt 1/2 inch from
right margin and, 6 1/2 inch further.

I have fiddled with Options, modify, etc. but have not found how to do this.
Can you help me?

Also, the draft I have printed out is double spaced, can I have the TOC
single spaced and can you set a font style for it?

Hi Patti

Using Options, untick 'Outline levels' and map your heading styles to the
appropriate TOC levels (actually, it doesn't matter which levels you use so
long as they are different, but it is probably easier to follow the logic if
you make Heading 7 TOC level 1 and so on).

Using Modify, customise the TOC 1, TOC 2 ... styles to change justification,
tabs, line spacing and so on to suit the layout you want. (Another way to do
this is to change the paragraph formatting on an example of each level while
the style has 'Automatically Update' set on (the default). When you have got
the layout you want, turn off the 'Automatically Update' for those styles.
