Index Error Message

I am trying to edit a document that was created by someone else. When I try
and update the Index I get this message "Error! Not a valid bookmark in entry
on page ..." I have never worked with bookmarks and can't figure out how to
fix it. Some of the entries it is giving errors for I can't even see that it
is bookmarked. Any suggestions or information on what I can do to fix this???
