Index page not loading as usual

Hi,

Normally when logging on to a site, the Index page displays in full.

On a site I have just published, the Index page first loads showing Index
of... with a hyperlink to it.

It opens when the hyperlink is clicked but will not open automatically.

Anyone know why this happens?
