Gus
I am using Vista Home Premium and Word 2007.
Whenever I create an index using a concordance file the index appears OK. If
I then save the document and try to re-open it, it won't do so and the
computer hangs.
I have got around it by creating the index in a different-named copy of the
original document, then capture the index as a jpg picture.
As the copied document is useless with the index I delete it.
I then paste the index in the original document.
I have had this problem now for about a year and it has become a real hassle
to create an index for the many manuals I write.
I have experimented with small documents of only a few pages and there I do
not have any problems.
If you wonder why I do not use the normal marking of entries, the
concordance file is very useful for when I am updating the manuals.
Has anyone had the same problem and is there a solution other than the
work-around I am using? Could it be that the styles I use cause the problem?
Frustrated Gus
