Indexing Corrupts file

T

Tyler

For starters, I am using Office 2007 on Vista, 64 bit.

I am almost finished building a fairly complex document in Word 2007. At the
end, I tried to insert an index using the Auto Mark feature. I selected a
file with a two-column concordance table that I had previously prepared. I
then inserted the index, and it looked great.

The problem is that after I save and close the file, I am not able to open
it again because there is a "problem with the document." I've tried repeating
the process several times, and every time results in a corrupted file.

I was able to move both files to an XP system and open them in Word 2003 (in
docx format). I reinserted the index without a problem, and was able to save
and reopen the file.

Has anyone encountered this problem before? I would appreciate any
suggestions that you have. Thanks!
