Indicating Current Date on Gantt Chart

Adrian Phillips

I would like to highlight the column on my Gantt chart which is indicative of
the current week that the chart is printed on Project 2000. How is that done?

Hello Adrian,

I'm afraid there is no built-in way to accomplish what you are seeking.
A couple of workarounds that *may* work for what you need:

You can create a shaded rectangle using the rectangle tool on the
drawing toolbar.

You could also create a new calendar using Tools > Change Working Time,
New. In the new calendar manually set the week as non-working and
display the new calendar in the background of the Gantt chart. The
display of the Gantt chart non-working time is controlled through Format
Timescale. This does not change the schedule of the tasks, just
changes the gray shaded background.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Not sure what you mean by column as related to a date.
On the Gantt Chart (right side) you can display a vertical line at either th
current or status date.

Try Format/Grid Lines.... Select either Status Date, or Current Date. The
line appears where appropriated. Status dates are changed under
Project/Project Information...

The solution with the gridlines gave me exactly what I was looking for. Thank
you all for your responses.
