individual names in a bcc field who is the recipient

I am confused about how Outlook(2000 etal) treats the recipient field when
multiple individual addresses are in the blindcc field.
Sometimes my name (the sender) shows up in both the to and from field,
according to the people I've talked to. And that has happened wether or not
I'm included in the bcc field.
The preferable treatment would be for each bcc addressee to have their name
in the to field. Am I missing a setting in Outlook?

If you put all of your recipients' email addresses in the BCC field
and nothing in the To field, Outlook will put your email address into
the To field (even though it does not send you a copy of the message).
If you add your address to either the To or the BCC fields, you will
receive a copy of the message. The ONLY way to get each of your
recipients' email addresses into the To field and not have everyone
else who receives the message see all of the addresses would be to do
a mail merge with Word.
