infinity symbol wouldn't print

In a word document I created on a Mac with Word 2004, I used the
infinity symbol from the Insert menu 'Symbol'. I transferred the doc to
a PC becaues it had a laser printer attached. The symbol didn't print.
The same with a right pointing arrow and double headed arrow. Are there
other ways to get these symbols onto the page so that they print?

There are a couple of things you can try;

1) When you use the Insert>Symbol command, choose (normal text) instead
of Symbol from the font list.

2) You may also have more success if you use OS X's Character Palette
rather than Word's Insert>Symbol command.

Hope this is useful |:>)

The Symbol font may not be available, or use the same mapping on the PC.
Instead, insert the symbols as Unicode characters using the character
palette. That way Word will keep the glyph, but substitute the font if
necessary.

The infinity glyph is Unicode 221E. There are numerous arrow choices
