Hi Jon,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

In the Resource Sheet, inset a customisable column like Text1 and rename it Inflation. Right click the column heading and select Customize fields... In the dialog, select Formula... Enter this formula: [Standard Rate]+[Standard Rate]*10/100. Change the 10 to whatever the percent increase is. OK, OK to get back to the Resource Sheet. Now Copy the whole of the Inflation column and paste it into the Standard Cost column. Voilá! Use the same formula again next year.

A VBA Macro is neceessary I am afraid if you want to do it automatically.

For each resource, you can change the work rates by placng an effective date
and a new rate on the resource sheet. Double click the resource name, go to
their cost/rate table and enter the new data.

Repeat for each resourcce (making it a loop or a For Each)

This is a quick and easy way, but all rates from the moment you do this have
the new value. If you want rates to increase only from a set date you need
to manually update each resource's rates from an effective date. Jim's VBA
idea would work.
