Info Bar for Activex Control Download won't appear.

I have just installed Office 2003 onto 2 computers in my network. The info
bar for the Activex Control Download for updates appears on one computer but
won't on the other. I have followed all of Microsofts directions to get it
to appear but it won't. I uninstalled and reinstalled Office, tried again,
and still no luck. I can't get the updates because I cannot get the Activex
Control. I experimented on this computer by going to Trend Micros free
virus scan page and the info bar for the activex control download appeared no
problem. Any suggestions? And not too technical please......

Hey,

Are you talking about the Info bar ActiveX thingy which appears in Internet
Explorer? If yes, then this Info bar doesn't come installed with Office
2003. This Info bar is only available in Windows XP SP2.

If you are not talking about this Internet Explorer's info bar, please
correct me...

I have the info bar in Windows Explorer. On second look it appears as tho
the scan for Updates for Office 2003 is not finished and the screen jumps to
the download page without loading the information bar.

It's a site issue, Chris. I'm having problems and there are messages on the
other two groups along similar lines.

Must be recent, just finished a new machine Sunday and downloaded all updates
for Office with no problems...

I am having the same problem with the active x information bar missing. It
seems to have started after I installed the Outlook 2003 junk email filter
(KB894384) update (which cannot be removed).
