Info please: Your authoring experience

I get most of the information I need from available literature.
What I cannot get from the literature is information about other people's
universe. So I am asking.

What company do you use for hosting, if not on a corporate server farm?
Does the service meet your expectations? (I am looking for a hosting
service.)
What authoring tools are you using?
Do you test online or offline?
Do you use third party components, or write most of your own code?
How do you keep notes and store code snippets and for reuse?
Where do you get information on current web authoring trends and practices?
Where can I find for information about other people's web authoring
environments, practices, and experiences?

Any answers to these questions would be appreciated.
I am not asking except for my own education.

Thanks in advance.

What company do you use for hosting, if not on a corporate server farm?

I use more than one, depending upon the work I am doing, and the purpose of
the hosting.
Does the service meet your expectations? (I am looking for a hosting
service.)
Yes.

What authoring tools are you using?

Dozens of them. As many useful tools as I can get my hands on.
Do you test online or offline?

Yes. Both.
Do you use third party components, or write most of your own code?

Yes, and yes.
How do you keep notes and store code snippets and for reuse?

In every way imaginable.
Where do you get information on current web authoring trends and
practices?

Google is my home page. For HTML and related, I use the W3C, ECMA, the
Microsoft web site, several dozen favorites in my browsers, and the Google
search engine.
Where can I find for information about other people's web authoring
environments, practices, and experiences?

The entire WWW.
