InfoPath 2003 - Buttons linked to Data Connection keep changing

D

dsnybnd

I have set up a form that:
1) Requests Travel Approval
2) Provides a different view to 'deny' or 'approve'; and
3) provides a final view to 'submit to database'.

When I update a button to use the "Request Appproval" Data connection, my
'approval' and 'denial' buttons connect to the same data connection. Then,
when I switch the 'deny' button to the 'denial' data connection, all the
buttons use the 'denial' data connection. I have confirmed that the data
connections are set up properly and I have deleted and replace buttons.

What can I do to 'lock' the data connection to a single button and then
'set' all 3. Thanks.

Hey dsnybnd
There are a couple of causes that come to mind in this situation.
1: The buttons have the same name? this would cause InfoPath to think they
are the same button and hence apply a single change to all, I've seen this
happen when a button is copied and pasted back onto the form.
2: The connection's your referring to are setup as Submit Connections, as
the form can have only 1 default submit connection when you change the
action for the button to be "submit" and select another connection that
selected connection becomes the default.

My suggestion here would be to add a rule to each button to query the
desired connection.

Hope this helps

Cheers
