InfoPath 2007 Design a Form Template based on a Database

HW information:
Dell Latitude D820 Laptop w/ 2GB RAM

OS information:
Microsoft Windows XP Professional version 5.1.2600 SP2.0 with all currently
available updates and patches applied.

Application information:
InfoPath version information:
Microsoft Office InfoPath 2007 (12.0.4518.1014) MSO (12.0.6017.5000)
Part of Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2007

Issue and Replication Steps:
1. Select File
2. Select Design a Form Template
3. Select Database under Based on:
4. Click OK
5. Click Select Database (Select the Microsoft SQL Server or Microsoft
Office Access Database you want to use as the data source for your form).
6. Go to the directory containing the database file (in this case I have
created both Access both a 2003 and 2007 version database).
7. Click Open
8. Select Table
9. Click OK
10. The following error comes up: “InfoPath does not support the specified
database. The database must be a Microsoft SQL Serverâ€

n step 5 it indicates a Microsoft Office Access Database is a selectable
option but when attempting to open an Access Database I get the error
indicated in step 10.

How is this issue resolved?

You probably had "Enable browser-compatible features only" checked on the
"Design a Form Template" dialog box. You need to uncheck this box if you want
to base your form-template on a database (web-based forms cannot have a
database as their main data source).
