infopath 2007 with non-sharepoint workflow

I have VS 2008, and our organization has deployed MS Office 2007. We are
running SharePoint 2003 and not SharePoint 2007. I am having a great deal of
trouble finding examples of the integration of InfoPath 2007 with WF which
does not mention SharePoint 2007 workflow. Is this even an option and if so
where might I find some examples of non-SharePoint workflow? Thanks
