Infopath Cannot Display Rich Text Fields from Sharepoint Lists

I tracked the problem mentioned in the Subject of this post to the following
kb article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/896693.

Current KB article status says:
"Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products
that are listed in the "Applies to" section."

How do I find out if/when Microsoft will provide a solution to this problem???

I don't want to waste my time trying to re-create Sharepoint lists using
text-only fields and/or writing some very complicated code that that involves
accessing the sharepoint list as an XML source file, and writing XSLT... if
Microsoft is going to provide a solution soon.

FWIW, I didn't see any schedule anywhere in that article, AND it's been
evident since Microsoft Office InfoPath 2003, Service Pack 1 (SP1). I
wouldn't hold my breath waiting for a fix schedule from this peer group,
