InfoPath Data mining for repeating Groups

W

Welchs

I have a repeating table and a table with repeating lines. I would like to
data mine any values populated in those tables to a SharePoint list (Line of
values) associated with each form. When using the publish wizard, the
individual fields in the groups do not show. Is it possible to get this type
of data to mine to a SharePoint list?

Anyone, Please help! I am stuck!

Hi Stacie.

You can have a submit data connection which will build a list for you, but I
am not sure on the repeating nature, probbaly would require some code.
If you search on the term CAML at http://www.infopathdev.com you can find
out how to insert and update a SP list.

I know you could put this repeating information in a SQL table using a web
service included in the Database Accelerator from http://www.qdabra.com

Clay,
I use the publishing wizard to tag the fields I want put in a data line in
SharePoint. The repeating group fields do not show up to be tagged. Do you
know of a way to get them to show, or get them into that data line?

Thanks,
Stacie

I do not think it is possible. How would you have repeating elements show
when the other elements are non repeating? It is just the nature of the
list. It is not built to grow either horizontally or vertically. You get one
row per form.
Your options are to build a seperate list for each of your repeating items
or move to something where you can represent these child table relationships.

If there are not a lot of repeating items, your other option is to not use a
repeating group and just create a seperate fields for a certain number or
them; Item1, Item2, Item3, etc then you could promote them individually.
