This is an FYI to the group.
I have uncovered a potential issues that I wanted to raise to the group
regarding digital code signing with Verisign certificates against
managed code solutions.
I have a code cert which was issued by Verisign that we sign our
InfoPath forms with. When deployed from a network location, the forms
on other desktops would work intermittently between the desktops. For
those whom worked, they worked forever. For those that didn't, same thing.
What we uncovered was an issue around the Verisign Third Party Root
Certification Authorities certificate which expired in 2004. The
desktops in question had updated theirs as a part of a SSL issue. Since
the code sign cert was issued by a cert provider who's cert was revoked.
The desktops rejected the code signed code.
Verisign does have a free download of their updated cert which runs out
in 2011 for anyone whom may be experiencing the same issue.
