infopath -- hopelessly confused

Hi,

I keep getting lost and confused in the many posted answers to questions
regarding InfoPath... I'm sorry if this has been asked before, I'm just
having trouble following some of the jargon used in the replies.

I've been assigned the task of putting together a simple form for my
company, that must be submitted via the web. We're a reprographics company,
and all we need is some sort of online form to submit basic orders via email.

I've put together a form using InfoPath, and would like to somehow publish
the form so that we may host it on our company website. We would ultimatley
like the customer to fill out the form through the website, and we'd like the
completed form emailed to us or saved on our sever somewhere so that we may
print out each work-order as they come in, and distribute them as paper
copies throughout the company.

While I've figured out a number of ways to put together forms, I can't seem
to find a solution simple-enough for this need. Either that, or I'm just
looking in all the wrong places.

Can this be accomplished with InfoPath and ASP.NET? Or will I have to find
an answer to this by some other means?

Any advice?

Thanks!
HM

The drop-dead easiest way to do this, if your webserver is Windows2003
(which, since you're talking about ASP.NET, I'm sort of assuming it
is), is install Windows Sharepoint Services (WSS) on it and then
publish your Infopath form to WSS.

WSS is a free addon component to Win2003 that can be downloaded from
Microsoft. It is SOOOOOOOO cool.

If you want to check out WSS without actually installing it anywhere,
you can create your own (FREE!) site on a Microsoft host for a month.
Its a great way to play with it if you're not sure what it is, and
you'll see how easy it is to publish your forms to the web.....
