Infopath integration with SharePoint (Newbie Question)

this is probably obvious but I have been unable to find it.

how do you connect an Infopath form/report to the data in sharepoint it is
reporting on.

I obvioulsy haven't used infopath before and frankly don't have a lot of
time research this so your help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

What are the fields you want to display in the sharepoint, add all those
values to promoted properties and publish it to sharepoint.

Select Tools--> "Form options" and select Form library columns tab. Click on
add button and select fields.
