Infopath security and user roles

Hi,

I created a form and published it to a SharePoint site. When the form was
first created it worked properly, anyone could open it - as soon as I added
User Roles, no one could open the form for it displayed the following error:

"Your user name or group membership cannot be verified because the form's
security settings do not permit it."

There is a Requester role set as the Initiator and an Approver role, I have
set the Form Options - Open Behaviour appropriately and still the users
cannot open it. It only works for me as the administrator and another user
who is an administrator as well but not for the site that the form resides
on, so that does not make any sense.

Can anyone help me with this?

Thanks.

Hi socaprice,

Please check whether you have set the security level as “Restricted†in the
Form options, if so there is a long list of features that will not work: no
managed code, no roles, no custom task pane etc… also this will not support
if you have updating form.

This is mentioned in the Book “Developing Solutions with Microsoft Infopathâ€
by Patrick Halstead, Chapter 8: Deployment and Security Page No 239.
You can get the details of the book at http://www.infopathdev.com

Hope this is helpful.

Hi Dr. Kalyan Reddy,

No, I have not touched anything on the Security tab. It is still at the
recommended level, "Automatically determine security level based on form's
design (recommended).

I will check in the book as you suggested.

Thanks.

I found out what was wrong. Apparently User Roles in Infopath don't work too
well within a Windows 2000 environment, they however work in an XP system.
