Infopath services

Hello

I am wanting to test publishing forms to a sharepoint server. However when
I try to do web-enabled forms, I keep getting a message saying Infopath
services are not installed. My question is what do I need to have installed
on my sharepoint server in order to get the ability to do web-enabled forms.

Howdy,
The components of InfoPath forms services are only included in the
Enterprise version of SharePoint, it's possible that you may only have the
standard version of sharepoint installed or just WSS, to check open up
central admin navigate to the Application Management tab and see if there is
a "Form services" section in the central admin. If not then you don't have
form services installed.

Hope this helps

You can purchase InfoPath Forms Server as a stand-alone product as well, so
it will work with just Windows SharePoint Services. As Ben noted however, if
you have MOSS you need the "Enterprise" edition. I have a page that details
the licensing requirements here:

http://www.infopathkb.com/Knowledge...re when installing InfoPath Forms Server.aspx

If you purchase Enterprise licences, there is a location in Central Admin to
"switch on" enterprise features by entering the license key.

Thanks guys, i just saw this post, never check my hotmail account to often.
I have a technet membership and was able to d/l a eval copy since we are
trying to see if we really want to do all this. However I got office forms
server 2007 installed and running. However I can not see where to create a
data connection library like all the posts say. I do not have that as an
option under create documents. Any ideas?

Hi James,

You need to create a "Data Connection Library" under an existing site, and
then point InfoPath to this site to get it to create a data connection.

I've experienced on one occastion that the option to create a "Data
Connection Library" wasn't available as one of the items to create - Document
Library, Image Library, etc were there, but not Data Connection Library.
Turned out to be because of the type of site template I had used. An easy
way to test is to create a new site using the "blank" site template, and then
try and create a Data Connection Library. The option should be available
then.

Gavin.
