Infopath versus OneNote

I have a client that wants to develop a form ( on a tablet) to fill in
field information on testing machinery. I am a bit confused on OneNote
versus InfoPath.

They would really like the data stored in a retrievable format , and
to be filled out on a tablet. It sounds like either product could do
the job.

I could just start coding a custom app with a SQL back end , but I
hate re-inventing the wheel. Does anyone have opinions or thoughts on
this matter?

Thank You
Shawn

If you want a structured form with a database back end, then InfoPath is
the only choice. OneNote better supports free-flowing data and there is no
provision for a backend (other than the choices one has when storing and
syncing ON data).
