I have an InfoPath from on SharePoint site. It receives data from a web
service. The web service uses SSL, that is its URL begins with https. I am
able to successfully access the web service. I don't provide any user-defined
code to access the web service. I set-up the connection using Data
Connection option in InfoPath's Tools menu in the designer. When I post the
form to SharePoint and fill it out, InfoPath says fails running the query and
gives the following as a reason. "InfoPath either cannot connect to the data
source, the service has timed out, or the server has an invalid certificate."
However, if I speciy I want to design the form using the "Design this form"
in the Tools menu and modify the data connection, I'm able to access the web
service. I do not make any changes to the WSDL URL when I modify the data
connection. I also do not save the template after making the change. Could
someone tell me what I need to do to access the web service without going
through the Designer?
