Infrastructure Update

This is certainly good news for those of us who have been "hungering and
thirsting" for SP2! :)

Hi Dale,

How comfortable would you be with applying this to an environment at this
time? I am the one who gives the thumbs up if we should apply a hotfix or
patch but I am very leary. Have you or do you know of anyone who has
applied this?

I would not be hesitant in the least to apply this infrastructure update
immediately. There are a number of significant fixes to remaining bugs in
Project Server 2007, and some major improvements to the My Tasks page and
the My Timesheet page. If it were up to me, I would apply it ASAP. Hope
this helps.

Hi Dale,
Is it true that this infrastructure update already contains all post-
sp1 hotfixes, therefore once I install it to our servers, I don't have
to worry about implementing any additional hotfixes between SP1 and
this update?

Thanks for your response,
Riso...

You are more than welcome, my friend! :)

Yes, I believe that is correct. Hope this helps.

Ok so we have tested and installed the infrastructure update with no
major glitches. The update process went in smoothly, I was a bit
afraid of the "Configure Sharepoint Services" wizard which failed
twice on our test environment but it was Ok on production.

One issue we were having was on "My Tasks" page - tasks did not show
up at all, page looked broken, displaying weird error (Line 668,
Char1, Error: Object Expected) and the "Errors on page" warning sign
in bottom left corner of the browser error. As I was troubleshooting
similar error for some previous implementation, I knew that clearing
browser cache usually solves this type of error, and it did for us.

I do recommend this update, it definitely adds value to the
application.

Dale, thanks for your support and encouragement!

Also, we have seen that the My Tasks component can behave strangely:
showing only one column. Right clicking on that component of the page
and selecting "Refresh" from the context menu seems to solve it.

Riso, can you clarify what users needed to do to clear their browser cache?

Thanks!
