inherited database broke

hi I inherited the task of maintaining our database at work, someone bi=uilt
it, not the simple way but all in code, so an update query which has alwaus
worked and sis based on mumerous other querys all of the suddedn won't update
it gives the message that " error must contain an updatabl;e query, I am
trying to fid the source and comparing the differences to a backup of the
database but relly m in over my head, any suggestions? it is based on three
different queries all updates.
