initial worksheet formats

Hi all,

When I open a new blank worksheet, the rows are too small and the date
system is automatically set to 1904. Can I change the initial settings?
I'm sure it's possible, I just don;t know how.

Thanks in advance!

Hello-

For the date issue, go to Excel>Preferences--Calculation & remove the 1904
check.

Is the row height simply a matter of resolution? If your display is set to
higher than 1024x768 you might want to set it down to that.

Hello cybertaz,

Thanks for the response. I now about the checked box. What I want, is
that when I start a new workbook that it automatically is set to the
1900 date system (so I don;t have to uncheck the box anymore).

About the row height: I have a specific font set and the row is too
small for the font (it cuts off the top). How can I set the default
opening worksheet so that it'll display a higher row.

I should have been a bit more clear about the problems...

thanks again in advance

Hi,

Take a look at this help topic in Excel help:
Create a template for workbooks or worksheets

To select all of the rows of a worksheet click the diamond that's just
under the red close window button. Then you can adjust the row height of
all the rows at once using Format > Row > Height.

Then follow the instructions in the help topic.
