Ink Drawing and Writing Toolbar.. How to activate on non Tablet PC

Hi,

I currently have a tablet pc that allows me to use the 2 button bars Ink
Drawing and Writing and Ink Annotations. I would like to have the same for
my office machine running Office 2003. How is this possible?

Not possible (except perhaps with some third party add-in that may come with
a slate/pen device.)

Hi Eric,

On your desktop machine, in Add/Remove Programs in the Windows Control Panel bring up the Microsoft Office 2003 product and change
the Advanced features set to have the 'Alternative Input' tools set to 'run from my computer'.

Unless you have a pen or tablet input device you may find getting to work these 'inking' tools using only a mouse a bit of a
challenge

Hi David,

MS chose to not include Handwriting recognition support for MS Office 2007 except when running on a Tablet PC version of Windows XP
or Windows Vista.

There are some 3rd party products that support the use of tablets.

I have office 2007 Ultimate on my Tablet PC yet the Pen tab only shows is I
have a previous Word 2003 file opened that has been inked and I select the
ink. How do you keep the ink tab visible?
