inline tabs??

Is there anyway to type in an inline tab? That is, to indent a paragraph
with a tab instead of typing in 4 or 5 spaces?

I know the tab key does the table thing, i was thinking maybe something like
Ctrl+Tab or Shift+Tab would let me just insert a tab key, but they dont.

Thanks.

If I'm reading your question correctly, then sort of,
yes.

Shift-Alt-Left/Right Arrow will indent a paragraph before
you type (and will affect existing paragraphs as well)

Hitting the Tab key at the beginning of an already typed
paragraph will indent that paragraph. You cannot (as you
mention) *start* typing a paragraph with a tab.

Thank you for the response. Actually what i was referring to was being able
to indent the first line of the paragraph. Alt+Shift+L/R indents the whole
paragraph by a level. Tabbing at the beginning also does the same, unless
that is new in SP1? I am d/ling that now.

Ah, sorry. No, the methods I described work on the
entire paragraph and not the first line. You would have
to continue to add spaces manually to indent the first
line.

You can also do your word processing on a word processor
and leave OneNote to us note takers <g>

I just played around with trying to add a tab character
via the shortcut keys (see the other thread here
entitled "Shortcut Keys" for the method used) and it did
not seem to work using both the ASCII and unicode numbers
for Tab.

Ah well... thanks anyway.
I think ill be sticking with ON anyway.... tab vs. spaces isnt worth
leaving. :) Its a GREAT tool, been using it for my class work from our
textbook, have all my work for the one book together, yet can have each
chapter broken out on a seperate page, awesome tool. Worth staying with.
