Inporting into address book

I have an Excel file that was created by exporting data from Microsoft
Outlook 2003 windows addition. I have opened the file into Excel 2004
mac addition and converted it into an CSV format. I am trying to
import this into the address book and have been receiving the error
that it is not in the CSV format. I have tried this many times with
both a tab delimitated and CSV formats. Any thoughts?

Are you trying to get it into the Office (Entourage) Address Book or the
Apple Address book? - That makes a big difference.
