Input mask for phone number

I have a table that formats the phone number as !
\(999") "000\-0000;;_

Previously, this format was set to not place a space after
the area code, so I have many records in the table in this
format.

Is there a way (short of manually) to change the records
to the format with a space after the area code? This is a
problem in reporting.

Can you please be more clear about the format whether it is in Excel or not ? Because this format is widely supported only on Access.
