Input Mask Question

[Fill-in Form General Questions]

I am creating a new table where the primary key is the project number. The
format needs to be 200X-XXX. Where 200X-represents the year and XXX the
project number starting from 001. How do I create an Input mask for this
field.
Does it have to be defined as text??

You should take another option into consideration. Are the numbers optional?

The example you describe could be defined as 0000-000
This inoutmask requires 4 numerical digits sets a dash and requires another
three numerical digits. The zero makes them mandatory.

If you look in the help of Access (look for inputmask) you'll find lots of
samples and explanation on how to use them.
