Input Mask vs Format

Hello all,

I'm using this input mask >!00.00.00.AA.AA to store a ten lenght string
"000000AAAA" on a text field and i want to display the value on my FORM with
the same format as in input mask with a dot marking pairs of characters, like
thIs "00.00.00.AA.AA" and i can't find the way to do this with format
function. Can you give me some help on this?
