Inputting a US map into Excel?

I gotta quick question:

Has anyone ever tried to input a dynamic/auto-updated US map int
Excel? Let's say I have a database which includes a column calle
"state" and a column called "count", which has integer values countin
something.

My question is, I would like a US Map with the "count" displayed for
let's say, 10 states (of my choosing). Is there a way to do this

There was in Excel 2000, maps were included with it but were removed by
Microsoft when everyone found the maps to be useful.

They then produced Mappoint and tried to sell it for more cash.
