Insert a new field

is there a macro or some way that i can insert a new field
into a table without me going to design view and typing
in the name and data type?

You can run a query that alters a table ( can be set up and run in VBA, but
not in a macro). But, if you're planning to do this regularly, you'll cause
bloating in your database by all the changes. Any reason why you can't do it
manually?
