Insert Address causes error

R

Roy Rutherford

I have Office XP. When I'm in word and try to insert a
Contacts address, using the Insert Address button, I
repeatedly get an error and Word shuts down. I have
removed and re-installed the Insert Address button (from
the Customize Toolbars area). I have examined the
properties of the Contacts folder, that looks normal. I
have done repeated detect and repairs. Nothing is solving
this problem. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thank you,

When Word crashes it leaves lots of junk lying about that can cause further
problems, so get rid of that first - see
http://www.gmayor.dsl.pipex.com/what_to_do_when_word_crashes.htm
Start Word from Windows > start > run with the command Winword /a
This loads Word in a basic mode. If the problem goes away then check what
add-ins are loading and rename normal.dot to oldnormal.dot. You could even
try deleting the data key from the registry as shown at
http://www.gmayor.dsl.pipex.com/my_toolbars_are_missing.htm.
You could also try the macro from
http://www.gmayor.dsl.pipex.com/Macrobutton.htm to see if that inserts the
address for you.
