Insert Autotext under Header and Footer is dimmed...

no matter what View i used. I tried the Print Layout View and Normal
view, but it is still dimmed. Actually, in any view, it is still
dimmed. I had modified the Normal.dot file because i wanted to add a
different font rather than the default Times New Roman and i also
added subscripts and toolbars, but now the header and footer doesn't
allow me to insert autotext dropdown as it is dimmed completely. Any
info appreciated!

It sounds as if you "modified" Normal.dot by replacing it. See

Yes, i actually did replace the original normal.dot because it
wouldn't let me save the changes by adding toolbars, changing default
fonts, etc as an error came up saying that word has been open
twice...etc. I will try your suggestion tomorrow to see if this works.
