"Insert Comments" in Word 2008 -- make like Word 2004?

S

Steve Maser

Hello all...

One of my users went ape with the "bracketing" of a word/space when
Word 2008 does an "Insert Comments". The user clearly doesn't like it
and made it obvious to me that this was a deal-breaker in upgrading to
Office 2008

The user wants to revert back to the "|" character that identifies
where the comment was inserted (even if the comment was in a space...)

If this is a preference I can change -- I'm missing where this is
in the Word 2008 preferences -- the "Track Changes" preference doesn't
have any options besides color for "Comments".

Does anybody know if this is possible? Maybe I'm looking for the
wrong preference to change?

Thanks!

Hi Steve:

No, sorry there is no preference I know of that would change that.

Cheers

The weird thing is you can open a document that had comments inserted
in "Word 2004" style with Word 2008 -- and they retain the style of
Word 2004.

But then any new comments use the Word 2008 style.

And vice versa!
