The following copy-paste procedure repeatably results in two different sets of cells being pasted. Does anyone know is this is some kind of hidden feature or if it is just a plain old bug?
1. In a worksheet with at least one column of data that contains at least two different values in at least two rows, select all the cells and AutoFilter them. This should produce at least one hidden row.
2. Select a range of rows that has at least one hidden row by clicking on one row's number and shift-clicking another row's number.
3. Copy the selected rows.
4. Create a new worksheet.
5. Paste what you have copied into a cell (it may as well be cell A1) in the new worksheet. You should see a range of rows that contains no hidden rows.
6. In the new worksheet, undo the paste you just did.
7. In the new worksheet, paste again into the same cell (a new paste of the same copied cells that are still on the clipboard, not a redo). This time you will see that the hidden rows have been copied as well.
Does anyone know about this behavior, and in general what the behaviors are for inserting copied cells? Is this a bug?
Also, the insert copied cells menu item seems to inconsistently appear in the context menu. Has this happened to anyone else?
Thanks.
