Insert Database - FileMaker

R

rjacques

I'm trying to Insert Database using Word X and FMP 6.

I can access the database with the Datamerge Manager, but cannot with
the Insert Database function, I get "Error! Cannot access datasource".
My FMP database has no passwords, and all the data access plugins are
turned on.

Mac OS 10.3.5
Office 10.1.6
FileMaker Developer 6.0.4.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

Hey Roger,

The Insert Database function does not support FileMaker.

Your best option if you want to produce the same "effect" as Database would
to use the DataMerge Manager. You can set the Merge Type to "Catalog" and
then merge the Data into a table.

FileMaker says they are working on an ODBC plug-in for Mac OS X, which
should be available in the first quarter of 2005.

That should enable Insert Database to work with FMP on the Mac as it does in
Windows.

Cheers
