insert date in ppt template

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel when I query your ppt help for inserting a date in the slide template (potx) I get a bunch of unrelated info and nothing on the subject I asked for.

Have you tried selecting 'Date & Time' form the Insert menu?

You're correct that Office 2008 Help is seriously lacking, but it isn't
"our" Help... You aren't communicating with Microsoft here. The responders
in the newsgroups/Forums are other users sharing their experience. If you
have any comments pertaining to the products themselves I encourage you to
use Help> Send Feedback from any of the program menus.
