"Insert Date & Time" Question

Hi,

The date, from Insert>Date and Time, does not remain at the date inserted on
a document, but changes every day, keeping up with today's date.

How can I insert a date onto a document that will stay on the date of
insertion?

I will be switching soon to Word 2004. Will I encounter the same problem
and solution there?

Thanks,

Rafael

Hi Rafael,

in the Date and Time window, there's a small checkbox in the lower left
corner, next to the text "Update automatically"; if you uncheck that box,
the date and time stamp should not update. And yes, it is exactly the same
thing in Word 2004. So you've finally decided to make the switch? Feeling
nervous?

Hi Michel,

Thanks. That was painless.

Word 2004, nervous? Uh...sure. Tonight is install night. Word's being
installed into my new iBook g4, so I'm dealing with those two plus OSX.4.2
plus an HP PSC 1610. As I sit, I'm looking at Captain Kirk's dashboard.
