Insert document as picture copies document to My Notebook

I've noticed that when I use the feature Insert document as picture, that it
makes a copy of the document in My Notebook. Is it necessary to leave that
copy in My Notebook or can I delete it after the picture of the document has
been inserted?

Hi,

I think it is probably safe to delete the local copy. It certainly
didn't cause any problems for display of the image in OneNote in the
limited testing I have done.

The local copy seems not to be used after the image has been inserted.

However, suppose you want to go back to edit the original document
from which the image was derived. If the original version has been
deleted the local copy in My Notebook allows you to work on /edit a
copy of the original. Whether you want to delete the local copy or not
depends, I guess, on whether you anticipate ever wanting to edit the
original document again and whether you know that the original is
safely backed up and/or will never be deleted.

Thanks for the help Andrew. I deleted them with no ill effects. The originals
remain in their respective folders.
